The unit also has a headphone jack for audio playback only - no mic (there is a built in mic, but it's merely acceptable quality), hard volume controls on one edge (out of the way so you won't hit them when you don't want to, but still in easy reach) and a speaker on the back side.

The docking port on the bottom is multi-use: It can be used to charge the tablet with the included AC adapter, it can be used to connect it to the docking keyboard and it can be used to connect external adapters, such as a USB or a full sized SD card reader if you don't have the keyboard with you (both available separately). My old tablet had a mini port, so I had to buy a new cable to use this tablet with my TV. Again, that's a micro HDMI, not mini like what comes on laptops.

The tablet has a micro HDMI port and it connected easily to my TV. If using FAT, 32GB will be your max size. Using NTFS, I was able to use a 64GB card. The tablet itself has a microSD card slot. Despite the tiny lenses, the video and photos I shot with the rear camera were quite good and the rear was more than acceptable for video conferencing. You get both front and rear facing cameras: 1080p, 8MP rear and 720p, 1.2 MP front. That's not an issue with the screen so much as stuff going on that takes up system resources now and then. The screen is bright and detailed and seems very responsive, other than times when the system is updating or doing some other task that can slow things down a bit.

This keeps dirt from collecting at the screen edges and makes a more finished appearance. Unlike some tablets, the screen is seamless across the surrounding bezel. Some friends of mine with Ipads were actually surprised at how light it was for the size. The tablet itself is thin and light - thinner and lighter than an Ipad.

5) Extra ports and storage: You get a USB port (which will operate portable hard drives, thumb drives and AC powered external hard drives), a full size SD card slot and an easier way to plug in an AC adapter than the bottom port on the tablet. 4) The keyboard helps protect the tablet when you don't have a sleeve or case. I bought this tablet and keyboard combo with the idea of having the best of both worlds: the ability to work like I can on my laptop, with the ability to separate the two parts and read like I do with my Kindle.
